Appearing both as a chic model as well as a naturally beautiful sports wearer, Kim Yuna showcased different sides of her image through Elle Korea’s September photo shoot, and later participated in an interview as well.
Just two photos have been released thus far, as previews for the September magazine. In the photo above, Kim Yuna stares at the camera with a subtly bold look, with a halter navy blue dress that cinches at the waist with gold, and splits halfway down the hem for a slightly sexy look. With the classic furniture, wavy hair, and simple eye makeup, she makes herself stand out from the neutral colored background.
In the second photo, Kim Yuna turns to a casual appeal, with a grey training jacket, thin wine sweatshirt, and black leggings with a mini skirt attached. As trees, a bicycle, and sneakers are part of the setting, she opts for a natural sporty look that makes her attire blend in well to her surroundings.
After the photo shoot, she had participated in a brief interview, which will be in the September issue. However, Elle Magazine released teasers of the interview for fans to look forward to!
Regarding her retirement from figure skating, Yuna Kim said, “Since I’m not exercising anymore, my body doesn’t hurt anywhere and my mind generally feels free. And because I’m not working right now, I’m not stressed.”
Having retired at the age of 25, Kim Yuna mainly reminisced upon how her life has been more relaxing and carefree since her finale performance. Though she doesn’t have a driver’s license yet or haven’t drunk any soju so far, she was said to have gotten deep into shopping, something she wasn’t able to do with her long practice hours.
“During my athletic career, there hadn’t really been much to dress up for,” she explained, “so I used to just wear anything; however, nowadays I buy clothes that I specifically like.” And about drinking, Kim had commented with a laugh, “I haven’t really tried drinking much yet. But for a start, my face doesn’t really get red. Other people then say that I’m the type that ‘will drink well.’ I’ve only drunk beer so far, but to be honest I don’t know why people drink beer. I guess I don’t know the real taste of alcohol yet.”
In other words, she’s getting more in touch with herself and what she likes and doesn’t like, while generally experiencing the life of any other youth. With her free time, she was also said to have spent nights watching romantic comedy dramas, catching up on all the on-screen romance of her favorite actors and actresses as well.
Her complete interview will be released in the September edition, so keep an eye out for Elle updates next month!
